About me.
I stopped working outside the home about 13 years ago due to extreme fibromyalgia pain and a few other health problems. I've learned to manage the the fibro very well now and have many great days and can spend my time working on making wigs, etc.
About my wigs.
Three years ago I started cutting and restyling stretch fashion doll wigs that were sold on Ebay and moved onto making hard cap wigs for the fashion dolls.
I do make and work on wigs from sun-up to sun-down and have made over 175 wigs to date. I am constantly tweeking my technique and trying out different products and styles.
I do call myself a designer and will repeat a wig style if it sells right away. Some are OOAK and also LTD.
I am proud to say that starting with W-200 my wigs are very secure and pop on and off your doll's head. The wigs are made directly on Sybarite Swallow's head, Antoinette's head, Jamieshow doll's head, Avant Guard's head & now both Ficon dolls' heads.
About my sewing experience.
I've been fashion sewing for over 40 years now. I started when I was 10 years old while on vacation at my dear aunt's home in the south for the summer. From there I got my own sewing machine and attended home economics when old enough. I read and experimented with everything I could from sewing to upholstering. When I was in my late 20's I had my own part-time alteration business but that took away from my joy of sewing. Sometime in my late 30's I took an online dressmaking course.
I've attended numerous sewing classes and events while I lived in RI for specialized sewing over the years.
I've made over 100 medieval and fantasy OOAK Barbie dolls and gowns about 10 years ago that were sold on Ebay. 3 years, ago I started sewing for the 16" Tyler fashion dolls and venture into there from time-to-time.
Machine Embroidery.
13 years ago or so, I moved into machine embroidering when the home embroidery machines first came out on the market and that is one of my greatest loves besides dolls. I've now moved onto more complicated projects like large machine embroidered large wall hangings, etc. You can see them on my project page. I have had numerous home embroidery machines and about 5-6 years ago invested in a 6 needle, one head machine.
My other interest is crochet, drawing....
My home is smoke-free and I don't use scented products.
I would like to thank all the wonderful artists for inspiraton and all my buyers!!! Thank you so much.
